GWINNETT, Ga. (AP) — Curt Casali hit a three-run double in the sixth inning, leading the Durham Bulls to a 5-4 win over the Gwinnett Stripers on Sunday. With the victory, the Bulls swept the three-game series.
The double by Casali capped a four-run inning and gave the Bulls a 5-3 lead after Joe McCarthy hit an RBI double earlier in the inning.
In the bottom of the seventh, Gwinnett cut into the deficit on a double by Rio Ruiz that scored Ezequiel Carrera.
Austin Pruitt (1-0) got the win in relief while Gwinnett starter Andres Santiago (1-1) took the loss in the International League game. Diego Castillo pitched two scoreless innings for his first save of the season.
