Gwinnett Fires Up the Smoker on 4th Annual Sip & Swine BBQ Festival

Food-Family-and-Fun-Focused Fundraising Event at Coolray Field on March 1-2Will Benefit Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter

Lawrenceville, Ga, February 21, 2019 – Ask any great barbecue pit master the secret to their success and they’ll likely tell you that they… “smoke it low and slow.” That is certainly the case for event planners of the yearly Sip & Swine BBQ Festival. Not ones to rest on their laurels following the incredible community response to last year’s event, organizers have been working under the radar ever since to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before. After all, the proverbial stakes are high as the Sip & Swine BBQ Festival is designed to raise funds and awareness about the Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. Marking the event’s fourth year and presented by Grand Champion Sponsor – Hendrick Automotive Group, guests of Sip & Swine 2019 can expect great grub, ice-cold suds, live music, vendor village and – best of all – FREE PARKING AND ADMISSION!

“The main source of fundraising at the heart of the festival is ideal for true fans of great Southern barbecue,” explained Jim Lloyd, one of the event organizers and CEO of Que Crew Sponsor, Lawrenceville-based InsuranceHub. “Our People’s Choice judging represents a random sampling of 9 different barbecue dishes presented by a variety of Pro & Backyard Competition BBQ teams. Sip & Swine attendees can purchase a People’s Choice Award Taster Kit for $10 on Saturday between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Home of Hope at Gwinnett Children’s Shelter and its all-important mission to provide transitional housing, life skills training and services for homeless children up to 17 years of age along with their young mothers. This amazing nonprofit also helps young women who age out of the foster system when they’re 18.”
